Meet Miss Alabama

Caitlin Brunell was crowned Miss Alabama 2014 on June 7th at Samford University in Birmingham. Competing as Miss Leeds Area, she won over $11,000 in cash scholarships that night, bringing her cash scholarship total to over $86,000 since she began competing in the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen program. Caitlin was Miss America’s Outstanding Teen in 2008.
Caitlin is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Dance and a minor in Computing Technology and Applications. Her platform is Caitlin’s Closet, which provides special event clothing to underprivileged children and teenagers. She is a member of National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership and Honors, and the Phi Mu Honor Roll. She was a Crimson Belle football recruiting hostess, a member of the Phi Mu Philanthropy Board, creator of the Miss America Dress Drive Program, founder of the Impact Club (a high school community service club), and has been a Lay Leader and fundraising volunteer for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals since 2004. 

 She was also a USA Today Make a Difference Award winner, a member of the Alabama Repertory Dance Theater, a member of the Crimson Cabaret, and was selected to perform at Dance Alabama. Caitlin is a volunteer for the Wings of Grace Disaster Relief Center and Tuscaloosa ONE. 
Caitlin 21 years old and has moved 8 times in her life, attended 3 different high schools, and was also home-schooled. She worked as a nanny in both London and the Hamptons in the summers of 2010 and 2011.
Caitlin formerly held the local titles of Miss Rocket City 2013 and Miss University of Alabama 2012. She was a preliminary swimsuit winner at the 2014 Miss Alabama Pageant and a 3-time preliminary talent winner in 2014, 2013, and 2012. Caitlin was a 2014 Miss Alabama Community Service Award finalist, the 2013 Miss Alabama Community Service Award first runner-up, and the 2013 Miss America State Community Service Award winner for Alabama.
She is daughter of Stacey and Mark Brunell and has 3 brothers – Jacob, Joseph, and Luke.
